To our HMSA patients: You may have recently received a letter from HMSA stating that Dr. Sakai will no longer be participating with the HMSA Medicare and vision plans in 2022. This information is INCORRECT. We will still be accepting HMSA patients next year, although the vision coverage will be provided by Eyemed. Due to current CDC recommendations, our office is still TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR ALL ROUTINE AND NON-URGENT EYE CARE, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. We are only seeing patients in-office for eye emergencies by appointment. Please see our earlier blog post on March 23rd regarding this.
For other non-emergency eye issues (e.g. redness, irritation, contact lens problems, dry eyes, allergies, eye medication issues, glaucoma issues, etc.), Dr. Sakai may be able to serve you with online telehealth examinations. You will need internet access with a phone, tablet or computer. Please call our office to inquire or leave a message.
